The Watkins Buildings (Or Hoff Towers) as Ben calls them, and downtown Memphis. This Blog will be about both. The J.R. Watkins Company, the buildings and downtown Memphis, yesterday, today and tomorrow. We bought these buildings six years ago, as an investment, but are so fascinated by the history, we're not sure where they might lead us.

I'm fascinated with the info you have on LeRoy King. My grandfather was the builder of King's home. You can read about him, John Wright Johnson, at http://JohnsonArchive.wordpress.com
I'd love to hear from you by email. What you have on the Watkins Co. is amazing!

Awesome history!
I just saw this. C. Leroy King was my grandfather and I spent time at the home when I was young. They had 3 dogs, 2 Samoyeds Coco and Cocola and a Great Dane. I spent some happy time there.
